It's a challenge for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the difficulty that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this ton was much more difficult to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've been watching me in training, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm whatsoever," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that Healy was underway.

"A chance to take the field and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is expected to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
